Bushnell Night Vision 2.5x42 Gen 1 Monocular

Bushnell Night Vision 2.5x42 Gen 1 Monocular

Used to be real good with moon light. Very sensitive. Even better after turning it off it would work great with best low light resolution. Unit eventually lost sensitivity. Now ambient light looks the same as naked eye. Still works with IR but not as good. Also makes high pitched squeal. Never exposed it to day light. Tube must have gone bad. Im shopping for a different make now.

This is a good unit for the price you pay, optics are pretty good although there is some fisheye effects. The two different IR beams are nice and you can cut both of them off for those moonlit nights, you can make out cows in a pasture at probably 300+ yards on a 3/4 moon night, you can see a lot more, especially at distance than you can with the naked eye. The bads if you want to call them that would be, the battery door is a little quirky, with the flood lamp on your hand gets in the way of the beam when trying to focus. Minimum focus in reality is about 10-12 feet. That's about all the bad points there are. Just be sure to get the diopter adjusted to your eye before you judge the unit. Optics Planet delivered on time like they said, they sent a tracking number and shipping was free, sure I'd love to have a Gen 3, but you aren't going to get that for this price, overall quite happy with this purchase.

The relatively strong light in one eye makes it inconvenient when it is removed, that is: swiching back and forth between using the night vision monocular and using naked eyes, is inconvenient. I would probably go for a binocular next time. It works well when staying in-doors and looking out into the garden, but for more or less continuous use (e.g. in my boat late in the evening), I would rather recommend a binocular.

WELL WORTH THE MONEY, HAS EXCEPTIONAL QUAILITY AND IMAGE RESOLUTION. YOU HEAR ALOT OF BAD THINGS ABOUT GEN 1 BUT THERE ARE QUITE RELIABLE, YOU SHOULDN'T NEED ANYTHING MORE UNLESS YOUR TRYING TO BE RAMBO.

The Benefits of Using Night Driving Glasses

There's no doubting that safety is important whilst driving - whether you are driving during the day or when it's dark at night. There are so many accidents at night due to poor visibility that in recent years, many drivers have been using night driving glasses to help them both with their vision and improve their driving experience.

If you drive regularly at night you will find night driving glasses to be a great help. They can help to reduce the glare of headlights, make road markings much more visible and also road signs. They really can make night driving much safer because they give the driver better vision of the road overall.

One of the most beneficial parts about night driving glasses is the fact that they can be useful for any type of driving conditions and actually provide benefits during the day as well as in the night. If it happens to rain, snow, hail, or any adverse weather creeps in, night driving glasses can help improve visibility and make the road a safer place to be.

Accidents are 52% more likely to happen at night - that's a scary figure and one that prompted inventors to come up with night driving glasses in the first place. Bad weather can affect the visibility of even the most careful drivers so they really are a good invention for all drivers and abilities.

If you want to protect your eyes further, wearing night driving glasses during the day can protect your eyes from UV rays. In addition to helping you view road markings much easier, they also help to reduce glare from the sun - which is especially hazardous when it's low and when the roads are wet.

If you would like to improve your visibility whilst motoring you should really buy Night motoring Glasses. Night motoring Glasses are beneficial for motoring both during the day and night and are suitable for everyone. Unique version for reprint here: The Benefits of Using Night Driving Glasses.
